Key for the Norwegian patternsAs there are a lot of tatting in English on the internet, I will not translate these patterns to English. Experienced tatters should be able to follow the patterns from the key below, using the photos to decide where to connect picots. Please note the opposite use of L and S for small (Liten) and large (Stor) R = ring SplR = split ring ESplR: = Single shuttle split ring SplB = Split chain
Small italic most often letters denotes the start of a repeat. A repeat is marked as gjenta fra a 5 ganger til, i.e repeat from the letter a 5 more times. Please refer to the photo for the total number of repeats as it for some patterns are "repeat until you have 8 rings" or similar. Sometimes the italic letter denote the end of a last repeat. Please refer to the photos for clarity. Patterns available in EnglishSome tatting patterns that are available in English. These use the Norwegian symbols unless otherwise noted in the pattern.
